Hokies

It's strange, I was reading a book called Nineteen Minutes that I picked up at Barnes and Noble the other morning when I heard about the shooting at Virginia Tech.

This may serve to give away my location, but my state, as well, has been affected by school shootings. It was many years ago, but I can remember the tragedy and strife that tore through our state and neighboring communities.

I can only pray for the families of the victims. I hope we all will.

No matter where you are from, what school you graduated from; today- we are all Hokies.

My love is with you, Virginia Tech.

Sincerely,
Waitress

I actually do know what you mean. I'm from Belfast Ireland, and we had enough shootings etc to last ten lifetimes over. The killings in Virginia Tech reminded me of the Omagh bombing of a few years back, random and indisrciminate. Awful just awful.

Waitress - New reader. Love the blog. Thanks for the Hokie sensitivity retrospectively; I was in the next building when shit went down in Norris.

I don't know why, and I've only been to an establishment once, but as I read your site I completely picture it being where you alluded. If I ever frequent one again, I'll be sure to tip well because of your insight.
